Computer embroidery” is a term that often brings to mind school name tags stitched onto uniforms. While the terms may sound similar, their meanings couldn’t be more different.

When I was a child, I would watch my sisters work from home. They held up artwork or sample garments and projected the images onto the wall. Using tracing paper, they carefully outlined each design, which would then be passed to an embroidery digitizer to convert into a specific file format. This file was then fed into the embroidery machine to bring the pattern to life. I was amazed—how could something so intricate be stitched with such precision? That sense of wonder was my earliest memory of computer embroidery. Even today, many people still find this industry fascinating and full of mystery.

Growing up surrounded by embroidery, our home was filled with handcrafted pieces. Whenever I came across embroidered products in stores, I couldn’t help but stop and admire them—the precision of the stitches, the layered textures, the refined details. To me, every embroidery piece holds a unique beauty and a timeless value worth preserving.

Back when Taiwan’s textile and garment industries were booming, computer embroidery was seen merely as an accessory to garment production. But over the past 40 years, as much of the apparel industry has moved overseas, embroidery—once a supporting role—has begun seeking transformation and new potential.

In 2009, I took over my family’s embroidery and digitizing business. After 15 years of unwavering dedication to refining our digitizing techniques and enhancing embroidery quality, our work has earned the trust and praise of our clients. Today, our embroidery is featured on clothing brands and textile products for leading corporations.

Our mission has always been to promote embroidery as an art form. We hope more people can appreciate its beauty, discover their own creative paths, and help embroidery find new places to thrive. By doing so, we can ensure that this craft—once part of Taiwan’s economic miracle—continues to grow sustainably for generations to come.
